Wellness Literacy
Wellness literacy means learning how to understand, develop, and manage your own wellbeing.
Why It Matters
Many people want to develop their mental wellbeing — direction, stress management, confidence, and routines; their physical wellbeing — sleep, nutrition, movement, and energy; and their social wellbeing — relationships, support, contribution, and community.
Wellness literacy helps you ask better questions:
What is happening in my wellbeing right now?
This means noticing what is happening mentally, physically, and socially.
Why does this matter to me?
This connects wellbeing to my real life, values, responsibilities, goals, and the kind of person I want to become.
How can I respond?
This means choosing realistic strategies and actions to move forward.
The aim is to develop your ability to understand, choose, act, and adjust.
The Aim
The aim of wellness literacy is capacity.
To understand yourself better.
To make better choices.
To take action.
To adjust when needed.
To seek support when appropriate.
And to contribute positively to the people and communities around you.
